
Seeking Paid Participants for Study on Criminal Record Relief

1 in 3 adults in the United States have some kind of criminal record. Too many suffer the negative effects of an an arrest or a conviction after completing their court sanctioned punishment. The study will address the effects of criminal records on individuals' lives. We will also investigate the impact of automated/petition-based record clearance on people's experiences and the experiences of their families and communities.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age 21+
- Criminal record qualified for clean slate in Pennsylvania

Interested participants must complete a two-phase screening process.
1. Using MyCleanSlatePa (next section), a third-party website provided by the Community Legal Services (CLS) and unaffiliated with the study, to find your Pennsylvania criminal record and determine if any offenses are eligible for relief.
2. Individuals with eligible records should return to this site to complete the input for below to be contacted by the study. The team will verify eligibility and then schedule you for participation.

The Clean Slate Screener is an automated service provided by Community Legal Services, a non-profit legal services organization. The mission of this service is to provide free information so that more Pennsylvanians can clear their records.
